Shankar Jaikshan were greeted by President S. Radhakrishnan at an event held on April, 1960 at Raj Bhavan. SJ have long list of “firsts” to their credit. They were the first composers to have their songs transcend our borders to reach far and wide, first to receive awards from the hands of foreign dignitaries, first to hold gala events to raise funds for several causes, first to have their music used for a national documentary, first to be invited by the President of India for a command performance at Raj Bhavan and so on.
